LAMPSTAND TESTFLIGHT BETA
Terms & conditions.
About these terms
These terms cover the Lampstand website and the Lampstand TestFlight beta operated by David Hurley. Contact dbhurley@me.com with questions. Apple’s TestFlight terms and any applicable app license also apply; these website terms do not replace Apple’s agreements.
An evolving beta
Lampstand is currently available by TestFlight invitation and is free during the beta. Features, availability, and supported sources may change. A public App Store release is not promised. Any future paid offering will have its price and applicable terms presented before purchase.
Learning and interpretation
Lampstand provides AI-assisted Bible questions, studies, and reading plans for learning and reflection. Generated explanations can be incomplete or wrong. Review the cited passages and original sources in context. Lampstand does not speak for God, a pastor, a church, or a denomination, and is not a substitute for pastoral care, emergency support, or qualified professional advice.
AI and third-party services
AI features require your consent. Requests send your prompt, selected sources, and relevant conversation context to Lampstand’s service on Vercel and OpenAI through Vercel AI Gateway. External Bible and teaching links are handled by the destination service. See the privacy policy for data handling and provider information.
Your content and selected sources
You retain your rights in the content you provide. Submit only text or material you have the right to use, and respect other people’s privacy. The service processes submitted material to provide the requested feature. Selecting a pastor, singer, church, or theology does not establish their endorsement or import their entire work. Third-party content remains subject to its owners’ rights and terms.
Scripture and attribution
Included offline Scripture and the current AI Scripture corpus use the public-domain World English Bible. ESV reading opens Crossway’s official online reader while ESV API approval is pending. ESV rights belong to their respective owners. Lampstand is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Crossway, YouVersion, or Apple.
Your device and saved material
Saved passages, answers, plans, progress, sources, and reflection notes are stored on your device in this beta. There is no Lampstand account or cloud library synchronization. Use the export feature and your device backup choices for material you want to keep. Beta software can contain errors, and continued availability or data recovery cannot be guaranteed.
Responsible use
Do not misuse the service to violate others’ rights, harass people, bypass access controls, expose credentials, or disrupt the app or its providers. Respect reasonable service limits and the rules of connected services. Use age-appropriate material and suitable adult guidance for family study.
Beta limitations and your rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Updates and contact
The effective date identifies this version. Material changes will be described on the website or in the app when appropriate. For help, feedback, or privacy requests, email dbhurley@me.com. Do not send passwords, API keys, or private reflection notes in a support request.
